LABRADOODLE
Labradoodles were originally a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Standard Poodle, now they are a breed of their own!
Labradoodles are sociable, friendly, non aggressive, and extremely intuitive. Their intelligence and high trainability make them well suited for guide dogs, therapy dogs, and other assistance dogs. Their non allergic coats make them popular among people who have not been able to enjoy pets because of their allergies

Generation Scale:
- (F1) First Generation: A Labrador/Golden Retriever to a Poodle
- (F1b) This is called a (Backcross) A First Generation Labradoodle/Goldendoodle bred back to a Poodle (this is a double Poodle mix giving you approx 66% Poodle and 33% Retriever
- (F2) A First Generation bred to Another First Generation still maintaining the 50/50 mix intended with the Hybrid Vigor
- (F2b) This again is a Backcross of An F1 Labradoodle (Bred to another F1b Labradoodle or back to a Poodle) there is very little if any Lab or Golden remaining in this mix if bred back to the poodle.
Coat types:- Fleece: wavy to loose spirals with soft silky texture and those with loose curl, reliable to be low to non-shedding
- Wool: thicker textured coat. Loose to semi tight Curl rather than wavy. Strongly reliable to be non-shedding.
- Combo Fleece/Wool: thicker texture with a combination of soft silky fleece, reliable to be non shedding and easy to manage.
- Hair: Similar to a Lab longer in length – Has the wisp, whiskers and wave. Shed a low to a lot!
A NOTE ABOUT SHEDDING & ALLERGIES:
Remember ALL dogs shed. We shed! It’s natures way of replacing the coat. However, specific breeds have been found to shed a lot less than others, which is why the Labradoodle is a popular choice (and for SO many more reaons!)
I think it’s important to note that allergies can be caused from a variety of things and there is no true 100% allergy friendly dog. One may be allergic to the dog saliva and will therefore be allergic to all dogs! On the other hand, many allergy sufferers have found that they are allergic to dog dander and have a high tolerance to certain breeds of dogs, such as the Labradoodle and the Poodle.
You also need to keep in mind a couple of things:
* It is common for a doodle with a hair coat (usually an F1) that sheds to still shed considerably less than a lab (although there have been reports of some that shed as much as a lab).
* Different people have different definitions of what it means to shed and be allergy friendly
* There is no total guarantee on Doodles in terms of shedding, although as breeders, we do our very, very best to give you our best educated opinion based on our knowledge and experience.
* Some dogs can have a combination of hair coats
* The coat can change tremendously as the puppy grows into adulthood, from the colors changing (fading, etc) to how much they shed (although the higher the generation, the less this is seen). All puppies will shed their puppy coat.

Description
Height: Males 22+ inches. Females 20+ inches.
Weight: Males 55-100+ pounds. Females 65-85+ pounds. It’s not at all uncommon for hybrid pups to be larger than either parent breed. It’s one of the signs of hybrid vigor.
Behavior
Temperament: The Labradoodle is good natured and easy to train. They are extremely clever, sociable and want to please.
With Children: They make wonderful family pets and devoted companions! They can love all members of the family equally unlike many breeds that attach to a single person.
With Pets: Wonderful! Ours are raised with other dogs to start them out right.
Watch-dog: They might bark when strangers arrive, but do NOT act threatening.
Guard-dog: They’re usually happy to see everyone.
Care and Training: F1s usually don’t require near the amount of grooming that a poodle does, but may need a beard trim and brushing weekly to keep them mat-free. The f1b Labradoodle backcross and multigens tend to have longer fur (4 – 7 inches), and will require more regular grooming.
These are not dogs you can put outside and ignore without regretting it. They are intelligent and need human interaction. If you don’t work with them, they will find ways to entertain themselves! Untrained they’re smart enough to find plenty to get into much as a toddler will.
Learning Rate: Very High! Obedience – High, Problem Solving – High. They are often capable of understanding up to 200 words, so be careful what you teach them!
